چکیده

A powder form of Fe-based nanocrystalline Fe73Cu1Nb1.5V2 Si13.5B9 has been prepared and its longitudinally driven magneto-impedance (LDMI) effect has been studied as a function of the structural and magnetic changes induced by suitable thermal treatments for the first time. The experimental results show that the LDMI ratio increases as the annealing temperature increases in the range of 480–6001C, where nanocrystallization appears, and decreases for annealing temperature above 6001C. The largest LDMI ratio is obtained for compromise values between permeability and electrical conductivity. r 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.

Longitudinally driven giant magnetoimpedance effect in stress-annealed Fe-based nanocrystalline ribbons

A high-frequency longitudinally driven giant magnetoimpedance ~GMI! effect has been measured in stress-annealed Fe73Cu1Nb1.5V2Si13.5B9 nanocrystalline ribbons. Based on how the impedance phase varies with the external magnetic field, it becomes clear that the imaginary part of the complex permeability, m9, which is related to magnetic losses, plays an important role in the high-frequency longit...

Correlation between MI Effect and Transverse Anisotropy in Stress-Annealed Nanocrystalline Alloys: A Mössbauer Effect Study

In order to understand the correlation between the large and sensitive magneto-impedance (MI) effect in the tensile stress-annealed Fe-based nanocrystalline alloy Fe73.5Cu1Nb3Si13.5B9 and the transverse magnetic anisotropy on a microscopic scale, a Mössbauer effect study has been carried out. A series of ribbon samples were subject to thermal annealing with tensile stress s up to 60 MPa. MI mea...

Phonon density of states of nanocrystalline Fe prepared by high-energy ball milling

We performed inelastic neutron scattering measurements on nanophase Fe powders prepared by high-energy ball milling. Neutron energy loss spectra were measured for two states of the material: ~1! as milled, when the material had a characteristic nanocrystallite size of 12 nm; and ~2! annealed, when the material had a characteristic crystallite size of 28 nm. The longitudinal peak in the phonon d...

Atom Probe Studies of Nanocrystallization of Amorphous Alloys

The nanocrystallization processes in Fe-Si-B-Nb-Cu and Fe-Nd-B(-Cu-Nb) amorphous alloys have been studied by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and a three dimensional atom probe (3DAP). Cu additions are effective in refining the nanocrystalline microstructures of an Fe74.5Si13.5B8Nb3Cu1 alloy and an Fe3B/Nd2Fe14B nanocomposite microstructure. This is because Cu atoms form a high density of...

Structural Characterization and Ordering Transformation of Mechanically Alloyed Nanocrystalline Fe-28Al Powder

The synthesis of nanocrystalline Fe3Al powder by mechanical alloying as well as the structural ordering of the synthesized Fe3Al particles during the subsequent thermal analysis were investigated. Mechanical alloying was performed up to 100 hours using a planetary ball mill apparatus with rotational speed of 300 rpm under argon atmosphere at ambient temperature. The synthesized powders were cha...
